Shawn Way Mortgage is the professional website of Shawn Way, NMLS #1007298, a loan officer at West Capital Lending, Inc. These are the rules every page follows.
Answers come first, with their sources
Each answer opens with a short, complete answer, then shows the reasoning, the arithmetic and the rules behind it. Specific figures, such as loan limits, fees and timing rules, come from primary sources: the CFPB, HUD, the Department of Veterans Affairs, FHFA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the IRS. Every source is listed on the page with the date it was checked.
Shawn’s words are his own
Quotes and video transcripts are what Shawn said. We trim a clip only when it contains a claim we can’t source, such as another person’s earnings, and we say when we’ve trimmed. We never write or polish words for him that he didn’t say.
Examples are labeled
Worked examples use hypothetical rates and prices and say so. They are not current pricing, quotes or offers. Historical examples from Shawn’s videos are marked historical.
Facts about Shawn are verifiable
His licenses come from NMLS Consumer Access; his production from his West Capital Lending profile and the team funding report; his rating from Experience.com, each with a date. Personal and team figures are always kept separate.
Review and updates
Pages show when they were last updated and when their sources were checked. When rules change, such as annual loan limits, we update the page and its date. Pages marked “Reviewed by Shawn Way” have been read and approved by him; others are written for the site and checked against their sources.
